Since Zeca Afonso, the most important songwriter this country saw in the 20th century, that Portugal hasn’t had an artist such as Bernardo, so willing to speak and communicate to his fellow citizens his thoughts on our communal way of life, while continuously evolving sonically and conceptually his music. As a citizen and a creative force, the quality of his work and of his views is peerless. The real deal in present and future revolutions through word and song in the country and the Portuguese-speaking world in general.
