  One of the pioneer bands in Portugal’s alternative rock boom of the late eighties and early nineties, Tó Trips’s Lulu Blind opened for Sonic Youth and Manic Street Preachers before calling it quits. Since then, along with double bassist Pedro Gonçalves, Tó formed Dead Combo and performed with Howe Gelb or Kid Congo Powers. His “Guitarra 66” album was his first solo work and features a series of meditative acoustic guitar musings.
